El libro de Ester contiene un mensaje asombrosamente relevante para el mundo de hoy. Marginado históricamente a causa de las dificultades que presenta para el lector cristiano, entre ellas la ausencia de toda mención a Dios, Ester plantea, a través de un estilo narrative, rico y sugerente, temas de gran actualidad: la relación entre el hombre y la mujer, la lucha por el poder, los reinos de este mundo en medio del devenir de al historia y la ausencia de Dios en una sociedad secular. Ahora bien, el indiscutible talent narrative del autor de Ester, más propio de la ficción novelesca, no empaña su inmenso valor testimonial por la luz que arroja sobre diversos aspectos del imperio persa bajo Asuero.

The Book of Esther has an incredibly valid message for present day society. Historically shunned because of the various problems it poses for a Christian reader, being one of them not a single mention of God, it is nonetheless relevant today. With a rich and fluid style, it deals with issues of momentous importance such as man/woman relationship, the struggle for power, secular kingdoms, and the absence of God in our midst. With fast-paced action, dramatic tension, and reversal of fates, the message comes through clearly: the Persian Empire and King Xerxes (Ashuerus) is but a passing episode in the history of faith and fidelity.
